Frequently asked questions
If you have a question that is not answered here, feel free to drop us a line: rachel@ilovemypostcode.com
We'll get back to you as soon as we can.
How do you make the products?
We order our t-shirts, hoodies, babygro's and ribbed vests from american apparel, who ship to us from their plant in L.A. American apparel are our supplier of choice for a number of reasons, which you can read
about here. The black non-ribbed vests are from Continental, who do a great range of top clothing, that is also responsibly made. Our kids tshirts come from
fruit of the loom.
We have our postcodes screenprinted by our printers K2, who are in EC1. They print sheets of letters & numbers onto heat transfer paper which we then cut into component parts.
When you order something on this site, we pick out your item, select your postcode letters & numbers and
put them together using our studio heat press. The heat press is like a big sandwich maker, and with just a few seconds in the press, the ink is melted and pressed into the fabric of your item.
This process ensures a smoother and cooler looking print that is also less likely to wear and tear. Once we've made your item then we mail it out to you.
Which postcodes can you print?
We can print the first two, three or four letters of any UK postcode. If you've visited the site recently you'll know that we used to just do London postcodes... but that's history, and we are now UK-wide!
Will you be adding to your range?
We hope so! We have so many cool ideas for new postcode stuff, and this is just the start. We probably have something new on order as you're reading this.
If there are postcode items you'd like to see on this site then just email us. Chances are we'll give it a try!
How soon will I get my order?
We make up your items within a few days of your order. Since we are only a small enterprise, we are currently mailing out once a week so you can expect your item to arrive ideally within 7 days of ordering.
If you need it for a special date or uber-quickly then please let us know when you order using the special instructions box, or send us an email.
What's your returns policy?
Because we press the postcodes onto items just for you once you've ordered, I am afraid we cannot accept returns.
If your item is faulty, damaged or there is anything wrong with the printing then of course, we will refund or replace your item if you just let us know. We take a lot of care to ensure we do things right, but if they aren't then we'll do our utmost to fix them.
Please take care when ordering and be sure you want your item before you pay up! If you make a mistake when ordering, email us and we'll see what we can do.
You don't do my size!
Ooops, sorry. We're not body fascists, we promise, we just didn't order very
many sizes. We'll definitely order more sizes in the future, but why not
email me and let me know what size you want and we'll see what we can do.
Oh, and the reason we don't do small for our regular t-shirts is because the
aa small sized t-shirts are impossibly small.
How do I wash my items?
To get the best out of your postcode t-shirt, hoody or vest please take care of it. They are designed to last but please follow these guidelines for all our products:
Wash on 30 degrees.
Do not tumble dry.
Iron inside out. An iron on the design itself would be disastrous!
The bag should only be washed cold, and again no right side ironing or tumble drying.
If you do have any problems with your item or screen print then please get in touch and we'll do our best to fix it, or replace your item.
Sizing guide
Sizes are cut in what is called a 'youthful style' - i.e. not baggy and
unflattering like a lot of cheap brands you'll find elsewhere. Most of the garments fit a little snug to flatter different body types. We actually recommend buying one size up because all of the items can shrink up to one size after the first wash. That's just how american apparel make 'em!
