So, we did it! At last all those new, tasty photos are up on the product pages for women and men. Hooray!
Check ‘em out: www.ilovemypostcode.com

We’re still working on a new look home page, and new photos for kids products, so watch this space.

This weekend we’re off to Latitude festival, where we will be proudly handing over a prize postcode t-shirt to the winner of the Pen Pusher poems by postcode competition. It’s rockin’.

Other exciting news to follow, including the fact we’re working on some applique items with Revampit which we hope to have on sale at the end of the summer.

Finally, if you’d like to join the postcode team for an internship in August then drop us a line: rachel@ilovemypostcode.com

We’re looking for excitable and innovative people to come join the team for a month. We’d love to hear from you!

This weekend we got out there with our camera in prep for next week’s p/shoot – and scouted locations in London. We’re going to be shooting in Soho, and we found some great spots.

The idea is themes, textures, colours to suggest ‘London’ and some hot bods shot against them. A few sneaky pics here of our backdrops to whet your appetite!

Blogspot

The other big news this w/e is that we’re having a blog upgrade, so we’ll be having a new blog address and a better look to the site. This is going on behind the scenes this week, so expect a new blog in the next couple of weeks. Hurrah, and goodbye to this dusty old grey style…

That’s it for now!

Hi there folks, and happy V day,

Two updates this week, namely that we now have a twitter feed and a flickr photostream. For Twitter, just search for ‘ilovemypostcode’  on the home page and you will find us. No spaces!

We’ve put some photos on the flickr account and will be adding more soon. We also found some cool groups, including the Macro Postcode group. They have some wonderful photos of postcodes on streetsigns in London, and have just about every one covered. Check them out.

That’s all for today, Rachel

p.s Saw John Humphreys cycling through W12 today. Actually, technically he was probably in W6 as he was on the southside of Goldhawk road.

Happy new Year! Hope you had a refreshing and exciting holiday and are back better than ever  for a stellar 2009. Things are going well here at postcode HQ.

We are excited to let you know the winners of our competition to find awesome streetsign photos, run in conjunction with Crackberry Times. So, drum roll etc….

First Prize
First Prize goes to Samantha Pisano of NW10, for this cheeky photo of her local streetsign. Warfield road is in Kensal Rise and this morbid little streetsign resides opposite the Kensal Green Cemetery. Some cheeky buggers done a ‘Banksy’ around it too, which adds to the per-cchhing factor. Well done Sam! Hoodie is in the mail!*

Second PrizeE

Second Prize goes to Andrea Vail for her shot of EC1. We like the composition of this shot, and the very London look of the sand-coloured bricks, bright white sign and old school red postcode. Nice one Andrea… t-shirt is in the post!**

Thanks to everyone who entered – some of our other favourite entries are posted below. Rob, we love your Daley Thompson Way pic (who knew?!) and Andrew, we can forgive whoever covered up the postcode with the sticker… even if it means lost posties, as it’s too darn cute.  We’ll be creating a postcode gallery in January, and working these new pictures into the site design too – so keep your eyes peeled.

We always appreciate nice photos of streetsigns, so if you have any lying around or fancy taking some then just give us a call.

That’s it for now – but we will be back blogging proper later this month.

If we’d been counting down to the launch of I Love My Postcode (which we kind of have..) then right now, we’d probably be at about one-and-a-half right now. Yes, it’s getting close to ‘launch’ – although we are doing what is known in the biz as a ’soft launch’ which I think basically means you’re not sticking to a specific launch date nor are you making a song and dance about it. Well, at least not until you are dead sure everything works.

The site is live and everything seems to work – so official ‘release note’ will go out this week. Just trying to figure out to send an html email, which sounds a lot easier than it seems to be.

  • Exciting stuff that has happened this week includes:
  • We had to get a new laptop. This was scary, and we lost some files… but the good news is we have an external hardrive (yay!) and the new laptop is so good it’s bad.
  • Had some really useful feedback from friends on the website navigation & design. Shout outs to Jen for her brilliant suggestions!
  • We’ve test bought some items and all went smoothly… boding well for you guys!
  • We LOVE the weekend when the clocks go back! It’s the best. Fact.
  • We’re not thrilled about the pictures (even though we spent ages taking them) so the plan is in place to re-take them all over the next couple of weeks. Again, shout outs to Jen who suggested we try some postcode shirts in situ type shots. Here’s a sample of what’s to come:
    Another vest, hanging around

A vest hanging out too...   A w4 vest    An SW4 shirt, hanging out in the garden

So another photo session and relentless cropping and uploading is on the cards. But we love it really… and the site will look killer with the new pics. Eagle eyes may notice the font on the shirts is different to the one on the site… that’s what you get when you forget to re-download your fonts first.

This week we have been mostly enjoying www.yeswecanhas.com as we also countdown to the US election. We’re very excited in the postcode HQ, not least because we have an American in the house and a cat who is positively obsessed with Obama:

That’s it from us for this week…

When we next post we hope we’ll be fully *live* and the postcode trend will be on its way to getting a foothold in… and you’ll all be ordering your postcode goodies!

Until then – x Rachel
